Meet our October Yogi of the Month! ✨ •Name: Ben Peters •Home town: Green Bay, WI •Currently living: Manitowoc, WI •Occupation: Professional Development Facilitator (among other roles) at Americollect •About me: Father, son, brother, uncle, friend, colleague, citizen, rapacious seeker of knowledge, and occasionally an aloof man-child. •What fuels you? Struggling with this right now. Feel like I've been running on fumes lately. My next right move is to update personal and professional goals and put systems in place to work toward achieving those goals. •Fav thing to do in Manitowoc: Play Ultimate Frisbee in the summer (follow Manty Summer Ultimate on Facebook!), Ice and roller skating in the winter. •Interesting fact: I stop for pedestrians at crosswalks. •Yoga Story: Several years ago, in the pursuit of a healthy morning routine, I picked up a yoga mat to do sun salutations upon waking. Then I found Sarah Beth Yoga on YouTube and expanded my practice to include more guided poses and flows. I hadn't considered attending a studio to practice until I met Ariane at an Americollect yoga wellness event. Waves made a great first impression and I enthusiastically look forward to weekly instructor led studio practice with other yogis. •Fav Yoga Pose: I shy away from picking favorites because it imposes an implied hierarchy. I appreciate what each pose has to teach the practitioner. •Love most about yoga: I strive to be physically active and use this body as a meat vehicle to energetically navigate through space. Yoga helps me check in with body and mind through controlled movement and breath. It helps me consistently get into a flow state for a sustained period of time. Studio yoga is a weekly tune up of mind and body and helps recalibrate emotions. •Fav Mantra: What would someone who loves themselves do? •When you’re not on the mat, where can we find you? At home spending time with my two boys, family, and friends. Or at work trying to be a positive influence on teammates. Or out and about in the community participating in local events and enjoying life on the #coolestcoast. •What do you 💗 most about Waves? It's a sensory indulgence. The smell, the heat, the cleanliness, the ambiance, and the overall positive vibes from other yogis and the instructors. Waves is a blissful sanctuary. 10/15/19
