We believe yoga is for everyone. The word "yoga" means union. It is a state of being in the present, focusing on the here and now. It's a path to self discovery, fine-tuned awareness, and unification of the mind, body and soul. Yes, it is a series of postures that makes you sweat and burn calories, but more than that, it is a way to escape the restrictions of the mind and the limitations we put on ourselves. Studies have shown that a regular practice can not only improve the body’s strength, flexibility, and balance, but can actually reduce blood pressure, improve sleep quality, and decrease stress levels.

We like to call our classes "gently heated", because our room only rises up to around 90 degrees. Traditional hot yoga classes run between 100-105 degrees. We are a little softer in temperature, but it's warm enough that it warms you up the moment you walk in the studio doors. You'll break a sweat during a flow class, and will stay comfy and warm during a yin class. In the summer time, we turn off the heat and open the garage door in the studio to a beautiful semi private courtyard.

It’s best to start in our Begin, Ground, Flow / Ground, or Slow Flow classes. We recommend setting your mat up in the middle of the room so you can look around at the other students in class and follow their lead. We have everything you need (mats, blocks, blankets) for practicing yoga, so you don't have to bring anything to the studio. We even offer a special package for new members: 2 weeks of unlimited yoga for just $59. This way, you can take all of the classes you like and experience different teachers and styles. Once you start to learn the names of the postures, the experience becomes much more natural.

Absolutely! If you are feeling intimidated (which is totally normal!) consider starting with our Begin, Ground, Flow / Ground, and Slow Flow classes. All of our knowledgeable teachers will help you find the pose that’s right for your body. With consistent practice, your flexibility will improve tremendously!

No, we offer both heated & un-heated classes. Check our schedule, classes are listed as (HOT) if they are 90 degrees. In the warm months, we turn off the heat and open the garage door in the studio to a beautiful private courtyard.

Head to our schedule on our website (or) we highly recommend downloading the MindBody app, it's the easiest way to book classes and keep track of your schedule and classes.
Wear comfortable athletic clothes that are breathable.
We have everything you need to practice at the studio: yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, and more. So you don't have to bring anything to the studio, unless you have your own yoga mat you prefer.
Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes before class to get set up and talk to the instructor if needed.

Unfortunately, our software doesn't allow one account to sign up two separate people. You must create two separate MindBody accounts to sign up for the same class.
About Our Studio

We are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Manitowoc within the newly restored "Union Square" complex; along with Manitowoc Coffee, Ignite, Black Heart Books, and The Venue at Union Square. Our studio is located inside an early 1900's historic cream city brick building that used to be an art gallery. Our studio features a clear glass garage door that opens in the warm months to a private courtyard. We are within walking distance from local eateries, coffee shops, museums, boutiques, and Lake Michigan.

Around our block we have around 82 free parking spots, as well as city parking lots on our block and across the street from the studio next to The Elbow Room.

Yes! If your child is between 10 and 14 years of age they may attend with you; if 14 or older, they may attend class with you or solo. Appropriate behavior is expected. Parental signature is required on our liability waiver for anyone under the age of 18.

Everything purchased in our boutique is final sale. We have a dressing room to try on merchandise before purchasing.

We lock our front door at the start of class. We are located in the heart of downtown Manitowoc, and our street is very busy with tourists and the community alike. We want to avoid anyone walking into our business during class, so we lock the door to keep you and your belongings safe. The door doesn't keep you locked in, it only keeps others locked out. We highly recommend arriving to class at least 10 minutes early to avoid being locked out.
Our doors are open 30 minutes before and after class, so you can pop in to inquire about yoga or to make a purchase. We are also more than happy to meet you at the studio outside of class times to talk about yoga, help you choose a package, or to let you shop our boutique. Send us a text or call us at 920-374-3101. Our membership is our unlimited yoga package. Our membership is our way of making yoga available to all. It's our most affordable payment option; we even give a discount to students, teachers, civil servants, veterans, and seniors!

Our family membership is our way of making yoga more affordable and accessible for our community. A few things to note:
Family members must live in the same household full time.
There is no limit on how many family members you can add.
You must have one family member paying $99/month at all times to keep receiving the discount. Example: you cannot add a family member to a student/senior unlimited package.
You may purchase family membership add-ons online. You must simply create a separate MindBody account for each family member and purchase the contract on each account.

While we want you to share yoga with your loved ones, class packs are non-transferable. However, we do offer a family membership option: $99/month and $39 for each additional family member. Email us at wavesyogastudio@gmail.com to inquire about our family membership.

All sales for classes, memberships, workshops, retreats, and events are final – no refunds or exchanges.

Weekly Classes:
We understand life happens! There is currently no fee for regular class cancellations, but we still recommend you cancel at least an hour prior to class start time to honor our teachers time.
Workshops/Special Events:
Due to the nature of special one time events, all bookings are non-refundable and there are no cancellations allowed (regardless of cause).

We allow our members to put their membership on hold for up to 30 days every calendar year. This is a great option if you are going on vacation, caught a cold, or have a lot going on! Email us at wavesyogastudio@gmail.com if you ever need to put your membership on hold.

Our unlimited yoga packages are auto-renewing. All auto-renewals require 7 days notice via email to cancel the auto-renewal in our software. Please email us 7 days before your draft date at wavesyogastudio@gmail.com. Thank you for being a valued Waves member. 🖤
