WHAT TO DO AFTER HOT YOGA - TIPS FOR RECOVERY

Hot yoga can be an incredibly intense workout. It’s a great way to get in shape, build strength, and increase your flexibility. But it can also be physically demanding and leave you feeling exhausted afterward. That’s why it’s important to take the time to properly recover from a hot yoga session. Here are some tips for what to do after hot yoga, so you can make sure you’re getting the most out of your practice.

Drink Water

The first thing you should do after hot yoga is drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated is essential for your physical health, and especially important after an intense workout like hot yoga. You should aim to drink at least 64 ounces of water per day but may need even more if you’re regularly practicing hot yoga or other strenuous activities.

Eat Right

After a hot yoga session, it’s important to refuel with healthy snacks or meals that will replenish your energy levels and help your body recover from the workout. Eating a balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits and vegetables is key for staying healthy and energized during recovery. If possible, try to eat within 30 minutes of completing your practice for optimal results.

Stretch & Foam Roll

The last thing you should do after hot yoga is stretch and foam roll your muscles in order to keep them loose and flexible during recovery. Stretching helps reduce muscle soreness by increasing blood flow to the affected area, while foam rolling helps break down knots in tight muscles for improved mobility. Make sure to spend at least 5-10 minutes stretching or foam rolling each day after your practice for maximum benefit.

Hot yoga is an excellent way to stay fit and build strength, but it can also be physically demanding on the body. That’s why it's important to take the time to properly recover from a hot yoga session by drinking plenty of water, eating right, and stretching/foam rolling post-workout.
